"It was all a dream." - The Notorious B.I.G.

Black Girl Coffee Co. was first envisioned in 2018 but came to life during the wake of the pandemic and was incorporated in February of 2021. However, Diamond Nichelle, a Detroit native, developed a love for coffee at the age of 5 when her “Nana” discovered the health benefits associated with asthma. For that reason, it was common for Diamond to have a thermos full of coffee in her locker during her time at Detroit's Cornerstone Middle School. The habit stuck around long past Diamond's "matriculation" at Cass Tech. 

Having spent time as a Barista during undergrad at her beloved HBCU, St. Augustine's College (now University), Diamond discovered a world where she could escape to some of the most spectacular regions with a single cup of joe. Although her love for coffee may be the reason the former student-athlete turned mother only stands at 5’5, her passion, coupled with her desire to find the perfect roast led her to incorporate her vision.

Black Girl Coffee Co was made, not just for those who like coffee but for those of us who like it black and for all of those in between. At "BGCoCo", we strive to recreate the way we as a people envision coffee and the way we drink it. Our mission is to offer a variation of single origin coffees, blends, and products that make Our People rethink the way coffee is done. At Black Girl Coffee Co, we won't be satisfied until you like it Black.
